Political Anxiety Processing Group

We live in a chaotic time; America in 2025 is filled with doubt, fear, hate, and bigotry. I am offering a safe online space for people (who agree to endorse values of love, kindness, and support to all group members), to join me for an hour of collective support and meaning-making. As a framework for the group, we will work on the dialectic of holding the difficult while simultaneously finding connection and meaning. There is always light to be found in darkness, and the aim of this group is to support one another and find some light through our collective care.

Our focus

  • Finding individual meaning and collective meaning

  • How to embrace values in face of the oppression and pain

  • How to support one another

  • Processing of grief and pain

Harm Reduction for Substances Group

If you are looking for support to lower consumption or harm related to your substance of choice, consider joining an upcoming cohort of folks through my harm reduction group. This six week group is aimed to help you learn more about harm reduction and develop concrete goals and strategies to change your relationships with drinking and drug use. Each week will cover one or more specific themes.

*Please reach out for more detail regarding start dates and the schedule going forward as this group is in the process of being assembled and will hopefully commence soon.

FAQs

  • A: This is an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves and for you to provide a general sense of what you are looking to work on in therapy. I will summarize my approach and be open to any questions that you may have. I will then outline the next steps to proceed to our first meeting.

  • A: No, at this time, I only offer virtual therapy.

  • A: After we meet for an initial consultation, where we can both assess whether we are a good fit for each other, I will send you some electronic paperwork to complete (including demographic information, insurance details, and consent forms). We will then find a time for our intake session. During the intake session (sometimes this takes two sessions), we will discuss your background, the conditions that led you to who you are today, particularly difficult moments or adverse events, your current symptoms and struggles, and goals for our work together. You may also ask me questions during this process. Subsequently, we will begin our work together, which looks different for each client but generally develops organically over time as we get to know each other and process your current struggles and life events.

  • A: Possibly. In the state of Massachusetts, I am in-network with the following insurance providers: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, United Health, Aetna, Health New England, Optum, Allways Health Partners, Mass General Brigham, Tufts Commercial, and Tufts Medicare Preferred. If you are enrolled in one of these insurance plans in Massachusetts, I am most likely in-network with your plan. However, it is always a good idea to double-check with your insurance company to ensure that you are covered for my services.

  • A: My general rate for individual psychotherapy is $200 per session.

  • Harm Reduction is an alternative to strict 12 step based or abstinent only programs; it is used to help people lessen harm caused by substances they consume. It is a flexible approach designed to increase the safety of a person’s drug and or alcohol use and lessen their overall harm, which often means reducing the amount and frequency of their substance use.
